Introducing Flames Performance Health
Liberty University & Liberty University Athletics team up with collaborative Health Partners to create Flames Performance Health
Liberty University (LU) and Liberty University Athletics have teamed up with Collaborative Health Partners to create Flames Performance Health, allowing LU to further enhance their commitment to developing and caring for their student-athletes.
“We are grateful that our partnership with CHP will expand and enhance the medical care for our teams and student-athletes,” said Vice President and Director of Athletics Ian McCaw.
“We are committed to providing a student-athlete experience that focuses on the highest quality academic, athletic, social, and spiritual experience possible,” said Chris Casola, Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Welfare and Performance. “With the support of Collaborative Health Partners, we are now able to add a higher quality medical experience to that commitment.”
The formation of Flames Performance Health was established with two primary goals in mind:
- Further enhance LU’s student-athlete-centered approach to personal and performance development by expanding the size of their multidisciplinary medical team as well as the speed and efficiency of access to these individuals and services.
- Further reinforce their commitment to student-athlete welfare, aligning their medical performance staff members under direct medical reporting lines independent from athletics administration.
In doing so, LU further reinforces their commitment by giving the medical staff ultimate authority to prioritize student-athlete safety and well-being above all else.
“We are excited to support LU Athletics and consider it an honor to care for their student-athletes,” said Dr. Ben Ferry, Head Team Physician and CHP Sports Medicine Specialist. “From NCAA to Club to Intramural Sports, we remain committed to caring for every level of athletics LU has to offer!”
