Collaborative Health Partners’ Acquisition Provides Better Opportunities for the Greater Lynchburg Community

Liberty Health Services, a Virginia limited liability company, is announcing today the acquisition of Collaborative Health Partners (CHP), a healthcare management services organization with a clinically integrated network of providers headquartered in Central Virginia. This acquisition will expand CHP’s ability to grow and further support the primary care, specialty care, and ancillary service offerings of its current clients, CVFP Medical Group and Liberty Mountain Medical Group.

“This is going to be a unique opportunity to partner with our medical people here in Lynchburg, and we think it’s going to be a great benefit not only to Liberty University, but to all of our community,” states Jerry Prevo, President of Liberty University.

As part of this acquisition, LHS will adopt Collaborative Health Partners’ name and brand. The CHP brand has become a trusted source of health information for local employers with its patient-focused platform of providing both quality and lower costs of care. CHP will continue working with local employers to offer unique, direct care programs which aim to maximize overall healthcare costs while improving health outcomes.

As current clients of CHP, CVFP and LMMG are active community medical education partners, providing over 160 clinical rotations annually for Liberty University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine students and the Lynchburg Family Residency Program. “This acquisition allows for CHP to offer better recruitment opportunities, which we know are critical for converting these clinical rotations into permanent, local placements,” states Shawn Crawford, CEO of CHP. Dr. Scott Hicks, LU’s Provost & Chief Academic Officer, adds, “ While narrowing our focus to collectively, and positively, impact the quality of value-based healthcare in our community, this partnership expands our ability to provide excellent medical education.”

“This is a win-win partnership for CVFP and the community,” said Dr. Thomas Eppes, President of CVFP Medical Group. “CHP’s infrastructure allows for CVFP Medical Group to remain independent, while offering us enhanced opportunities to recruit high-quality physicians and expanded services to the patients and communities we already serve.”
