This decision, made jointly by the CHP and CVFP Boards, applies to both new and existing providers and reflects a continued commitment to building a culture where physicians and advanced practice providers choose to stay and grow.

“At the core of this decision is our belief that culture, not contracts, should define why providers choose to be part of an organization,” said Shawn Crawford, CEO of CHP.   “We are intentionally investing in an environment where providers feel supported, engaged, and connected to meaningful work.”

Over the past several years, CHP and CVFP have focused on strengthening a workplace culture centered on collaboration, professional fulfillment, and patient-centered care. Leadership believes that a strong organizational culture, paired with the dedication of its providers and care teams, is the most effective and sustainable way to recruit and retain exceptional talent.

By eliminating non-compete provisions, the organization is reinforcing its confidence in the value it provides to providers and patients alike.

“Our goal is for every provider to feel valued and inspired, not obligated,” said Dr. Mark Kleiner, President of CVFP.  "We are committed to creating a workplace where people stay because they want to.”

Employment agreement addendums reflecting this change will be distributed to providers in the coming months.
